- Log into your and sign your residence agreement.
- Sign up for a move-in time through your resident portal starting Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. MST. You will not be able to select your move-in time slot until you have signed your agreement.
- On Aug. 24, arrive to campus under the Arch at the intersection of 24 Ave NW and University Drive and follow the signs. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior or 10 minutes after your move-in start time, as there is limited parking. If you arrive to campus more than 10 minutes prior to your start time, please wait in another parking lot or at McMahon Stadium until your move-in time.
- When you arrive to the Arch, please follow the instructions by our staff and park until there is availability for you to pick up your move-in package.
- At the drive through check-in, show the QR code that is located in your Resident Portal to receive your residence key, move-in information and Unicard (if submitted prior to Aug. 15).
- Proceed to your building to unload your personal items. There will be Dino Moving Crew volunteers at buildings to help with move-in. We ask that you move your vehicle as soon as all your items are unloaded, to make sure we are able to get everyone moved in during their time slot.
- When you have unloaded your belongings, you will need to move your vehicle to the Art Parkade.

- On your move-in day, you will arrive at Crowsnest Hall. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior or 10 minutes after your move-in start time, as there is limited parking. - When you arrive you will park your vehicle at the designated spot and go inside to reception pick up your move-in package. Those moving into Varsity Courts can park in the loop in front of Crowsnest Hall. Those moving into Crowsnest Hall can park behind the building in lot 65.
- Once inside please show the QR code from your Resident Portal or your UCID to receive your residence key, Unicard (if submitted prior to Aug. 15) and move-in information.
- Those living in Varsity Courts can follow the signs to Varsity Courts to unload. We ask that you take a maximum of 30 minutes to unload your belongings, so we can make sure that we are able to get everyone moved in during their time slot.
- Once you have unloaded your belongings, please move your vehicle to Lot 12 or Lot 10 for the remainder of the day, unless you have a parking permit. Parking permits can be picked up at the Campus Service Centre.
If you are arriving by taxi or car share on move-in day, Aug. 24
- Log into your and sign your residence agreement.
- You do NOT need to sign up for a move-in timeslot
- Check-in at the Campus Service Centre located in International House
- Once inside show your government photo ID to receive your residence key and Unicard (if photo submitted prior to Aug. 15).
- Proceed to your building to unload your personal items.
- Log into your and sign your residence agreement.
- Fill out the Arrival Date form, located in the Forms tab of your Resident Portal
- Check-in at the Campus Service Centre, if you are arriving:
- After 4 p.m. on August 24
- August 25 or later
- When inside you will need to show your government photo ID to receive your move-in package which includes your residence key and Unicard (if submitted prior to Aug 15).
- Proceed to your building to unload your personal items.
- Once your belongings have been unloaded and need to park, you will need to move your vehicle to a paid parking lot, unless you have a parking pass.
- If you're arriving after hours 10 p.m. - 8 a.m. you must fill out the Arrival Date form, which can be found in your under the Forms tab. It must be filled in a minimum of three (3) days prior to arrival.
We understand that some international students will be arriving prior to Aug. 24 due to flight schedules. We will be allowing international students to move-in starting Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, if their room is available and ready.
There are some programs that start prior to our residence move-in date of Aug. 24, 2025. Residents with programs that start prior to Aug. 24, may apply to move-in one day prior to the start of their program.
We are unable to guarantee early arrival requests due to limited bed spaces but will do our best to accommodate.
Apply for early arrival by logging into your and filling out the Early Arrival form under the Forms tab.
Residents that are moving into Aloft Hotel Residence must inform us of their arrival date so, we can make sure that their room is ready. When checking in at the Aloft Hotel, you will need to show photo ID.
Choosing a meal plan
With move-in fast approaching, you'll need to start thinking about your meal plan options. Meal plans must be selected by Aug. 17. Note: you're required to swipe in with your Unicard to access the meal plan in The Landing.
First year students:
You will be able to select your meal plan through your when you are signing your Residence Agreement. First year undergraduate residents will be required to purchase one of two meal plans:
- 7-day unlimited: unlimited entry to The Landing, seven days a week
- 5-day unlimited: unlimited entry to The Landing, Mon. to Fri.
Upper-year students:
Can purchase any of the 7- and 5-day plans, 120 or 250 entries to The Landing. These plans are great if you don’t have time to cook or need extra food support in the case of self-isolation. Meal plans can be selected through the while signing the Residence Agreement.

Move-in Volunteer
Residence move-in is one of the largest events at the University of Calgary each year. This year we will welcome over 1,300 students Sunday, Aug.24. Volunteers make students' move-in day welcoming and an event to remember.

Help support a fair and respectful Residence community. RAB members are student volunteers who serve on an appeal panel for residence policy decisions.
