Outdoor winter festival Dec. 9 features live music, food trucks and activities
Northwestival
University District, the community taking shape on the west side of campus, is celebrating the holiday season with its annual Northwestival on Dec. 9.
The afternoon event will be full of holiday surprises that will delight all ages. Bring family, friends, neighbours and four-legged loved ones to Northwestival and create some new winter memories together.
A lively lineup of holiday surprises is planned for this year’s event:
- Live music, roaming performers and entertainment
- Calgary food trucks for any appetite
- Do-it-yourself winter workshops
- S’mores and cabane à sucre stations
- Toasty firepits and warm holiday drinks
- Sled dogs and holiday hayrides
- Fat bikes
- A holiday card photo booth
- Log sawing and axe throwing
When: Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018 from 1 to 6 p.m.
Where: University of Calgary Field 9 — just east of the University District Discovery Centre (4410 University Ave., N.W.) at the intersection of 39th St. and University Ave., N.W.
Admission to Northwestival is an unopened jar of peanut butter to support I Can for Kids; Northwestival’s charity for 2018. This local charity provides nutritious items to hungry kids across the city during the summer months with a mission to end summer childhood hunger in our community.
Northwestival is a combination of free and token-based activities. Tokens can be purchased at the token booths located throughout the festival.
